LÉGER Towels
How do we make your towels from plastic bottles:
Polyester is made from pulled yarn made from plastic. We chose to source our material from recycled plastic (instead of new plastic) that is collected, cleaned, sorted by color and crushed, pulled into yarn and woven into soft suede-like fabric.
Recycled fabric consumes 72% less water and 56% less energy than its counterpart made from non recycled fabrics.
Our towels are made from 80% recycled polyester and 20% Nylon, and are 100% recyclable!
Our goal is to develop a fabric that is made from 100% recycled materials, which can provide the same soft, moisture-activating grip, ultra absorbent and sand-repellent properties as vegan-suede. We are always looking to try new technologies and if you have an idea or would like to work with us, we would love to hear from you!
How to care for you towel:
Our towels can be machine washed (cold water) and tumble dried, but we highly recommend hand washing and air drying to be more eco-friendly. If you choose to machine wash your towel, it is normal that the towel might crease, this will not affect the performance of the towel.
Our towels do not discolor with washing, however the material might lighten with usage, which we think adds more charm to the prints!
Each towel is unique:
Each of our towels have been hand cut then individually finished and stitched on the sides. Because the towels are made by small batches, every product might vary slightly, no single towels are the same.
